Hey folks. Are we into January yet? I think in some ways the weather has forced us to stay in winter mode and even thinking of those long days ahead and the daffodils blooming seems like a faraway dream. Anyway not to worry, the main thing is to stay positive and focus on the little projects we can do to keep our minds busy. And I'm not talking about the washing and ironing but maybe something a little bit more creative like cooking something new you've never tried before or changing even a small space in your home like a downstairs loo lets say. Since joining instagram I have never seen so many inventive ways to change up a little bathroom space or turn a cosy corner into an office set up. People tend to think you have to have a big house to be creative. On the contrary! A lot of the time I see these big houses being built all over the country and the owners haven't a clue how to decorate them! The furniture looks lost and small in the oversized rooms and the there are too many doors and windows not to mention the colour palate! I'm not saying every house but I've certainly seen a fair few! The key to is to take one area at a time and make it different but keep the overall theme similar....in my opinion and experience over the last 25 years of changing up bits and bobs in my home. Take one of our beautiful new furniture pieces. You don't need to add 3 ornaments, a vase of flowers, 2 books, a mirror, a piece of coral and 6 candles. 3 items will do just as nice and will draw the eye. Maybe a statement piece on the wall above or wallpaper behind it and just one vase at the end with some striking stems......from White Heather home of course. Anyway if you do need any tips styling any of our pieces, please let me know. I don't charge for this service because I love doing it and it means I get to style one of our gorgeous pieces! Until next time...... Tx
