Whenever somebody asks for my help with a space in their home, I always start with a mood board. Nothing fancy, I just like to be able to visualise all the pieces coming together based on a photo they will have sent to me and that they know I'm going to recommend pieces from White Heather Home! Naturally we don't stock every item so I will sometimes recommend art from Desenio or the Poster Club or if their budget will stretch then Minted or from the artist directly(usually Irish if I can!) I believe you can refresh any area big or small in your home with a little budget and imagination. Most of the time people will already have expensive items like a couch so to add a bit of character I might suggest some panelling and wallpaper, depending on the size of the area, or some new paint colours and art work. A room might just need "finishing" where I'll suggest one of our gorgeous side tables for the end of a couch with a vase and some stems and a throw over the arm of a char to add extra warmth. The great thing about faux stems is that they always look fresh and need little care and attention but add great effect to a space. So before you start running out to buy and item that you just can't live without, check where it might work in the space you want to decorate or liven up! Ask yourself, does it work with the other items and the space as a whole? If not then save yourself the cash and put it back. Save for the whole picture and price out the items you know are going to work together. Or simply give me a shout for any help you might need. Tracy x
